And here was me thinking I didn't need anything else since buying my new HERMS set up last week ...

Re: Sealing HERMS coil
Application of copious amounts of PTFE tape and brute force seems to have done the trick!
Thanks all, roll on brewday!

Re: Sealing HERMS coil
Thanks Fil , it's a 2 part olive - I tried PTFE and that did the trick for one of the fittings but the other one is still dripping.
I'll have to try nipping the other up tighter
Thanks very much for the tips

Sealing HERMS coil
Hi, I've just got myself a shiny new brew builder HERMS coil for my HLT and some stainless compression fittings. Try as I might I just can't get it to seal without a slight drip into the pot when testing by running cold water through the coil. On a real brewday I'm not wanting wort to run into the H...

Re: Brewbuilder 3kW Elements - Cable Gland Size needed
Cheers, my new control panel has three pids but at the moment only the hlt is actually controlled by an SSR.
Anyone know if the inkbird pids can dial back power using pwm ?

Re: Anyone used the ESP8266
You tell Alexa to "find devices" and it pings out discovery messages on your local wifi network. The firmare on the Sonoff responds and tells Alexa that it's a wireless switch. You can then issue "Alexa, turn <device> on" type commands (you can change <device> to be anything you want as part of the...

Re: Brewbuilder 3kW Elements - Cable Gland Size needed
Interesting - I was getting a semi-rolling boil on my 2.4kw element so had hoped for something more vigorous. You have me worried that it will be too vigorous now! My control panel doesn't allow me to dial back unfortunately, I'll have to see how this works in practice and then do some jiggery poker...

Re: Brewbuilder 3kW Elements - Cable Gland Size needed
Excellent - thanks, I've been looking at stainless glands and almost fell off my chair with the price!
I'm moving up from a 2.4kw element and hope to get a more vigorous boil on my double batches (about 50l in the boiler).
Good luck with your new build

Brewbuilder 3kW Elements - Cable Gland Size needed
Hi,
I've just pulled the trigger on a new boiler setup from Brewbuilder and wondered if anyone could tell me the size of cable gland required for the 3kw bendy LWD elements?
Looking forward to some new shiny!
Thanks all,
Jamie.

Looks better than the bulldog to me with a hidden and permanently plumbed pump.

Re: Project box
That IKEA cabinet is a great idea, I'm currently deciding on a suitable enclosure myself. Can't decide on something alternative, a wall mount box like the electric brewery or a decent sized worktop electronics enclosure, anyone have any good links?
