I think some peeps have used propane regs, as these only let the barrel/keg get to about 5psi with a co2 supply and that not enough to force carb
setting it up is worth it in the long run but its if you you use it for a long enough time

Re: Sorry, still need some clarification with Stan San
I buy deionised Iron water from Morrisons . . . but that's because I can hide it on the grocery bill :D. Be careful with 'water' from ECP . . . Battery top up water may contain sulphuric acid ;) ive never heard water for battery topup may contain sulphuric acid, the bottle should have a big bright ...

Re: Hop Growing 2017
Ei think the mould is just unfortunate, just like wilt etc. some yrs are good and others are bad but hopfully not all the hops get it. I just harvest what I think is worth it, and I don't think spraying anything is worth it on hops. After all, hops is hops to a home brewer, it not like we got fields...

Had to do a bottlecount today - I'm in danger of running out of empt...

Re: and so it begins... first cider of autumn!
With my new home made apple scratter, I could pulp my apples this year. Not in a whole fruit juicer which I have in other years (it's started to make that magic blue smoke) and it's been worked hard. Sops of wine is the first to drop, and the wind helped a bit. it also helped a few other trees, and ...

I don't mean to be a pooper on your build, (it looks very nice) but shouldn't you have a drip thingy on you steam pipe so the condensate don't run back into you kettle .?.?
But I'd be very happy to own it,,,show it off to everyone

Re: Crossmyloof - too good to be true?
I've always thought the same, someone was repackaging bigger bags, and Yeh, some may be good, and yet some may have some other unwanted friends or stuff in the packing. But unless you do a post in which peeps say if had good/bad results, but with other factors included we will never realy know But i...

Re: Belgian Candi Syrup
The think I find intresting is, and I can't say I've read many peeps views on this subject, although it's a very simple reaction. if an acid is used to help invert (the acid is catalyst, which makes the reaction go faster and is still there at the end). By adding an alkali (pickling lime in my case)...
