Believe me, when I brew I prefer the British malts however if you are looking to copy 2 Hearted then with the Maris Otter you will not have the correct flavour profile. Still a good beer I am sure but not the same.

Sounds as though the recipe was a success Do you bottle all of your brews or do you keg some? I keg most of what I brew these days although I do not force carbonate.
