Re: Kegerator build - dreaded hole drilling
I know I'm a bit late to the party on this one, but it might be of use to someone searching in the future, but I've heard rubbing alcohol and cornflour mixed to a paste and painted onto the fridge is a good way to find the cooling lines. The heat makes the alcohol evaporate. On one American forum, ...

Re: Pepsi/Cola Gas Management Board
The carbonation gauge/outlet pressure should be set via the primary regulator which should be to the right of it.
The other outlets you can set independently but pressure can only go up to the primary regulator setting.

Re: Keeping Beer
I brewed a couple of milds recently in preparation for a local CAMRA visit to 'My Shed' taproom in May. This is now not happening but the mild has turned out really good. One was at 2.8%, light and easy drinking, the other a Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild clone which came out at 5.8%. A very different beer ...

I am not aware of anywhere that would refill a bottle but Andover Patio Centre have beverage grade 6kg bottles. They are about £25 and no deposit or rental.

Get out in your local area and see who has any apple trees. They will probably be glad for you to come and pick them rather than going to waste. Bit of leg work needed LoL

Re: Grainfather counterflow cleaning
Although not a GF CFC I fill with PBW and leave for 20mins then flush through with water. I think drying is very important and use a combination of CO2 purge and pipe cleaners to dry out the lower coils.
I have found a mild build up if you don’t dry thoroughly .

Re: Co2 Leak
I had a similar issue with a regulator mounted on a distribution board. I assumed the hole was there to vent pressure in the event the diaphragm was damaged or failed. Mine also leaked through this hole. Needless to say I replaced the regulator. I do get a bit of a drop over time with everything tur...

Re: Another Counterflow Question - AliExpress
I may splash out on pbw or the malt miller el cheapo version just so damn expensive Talking to Rob at MM the main difference between PBW and the MM version is that the MM version can leave a residue in hard water areas whereas the real stuff doesn't. PBW is expensive but used wisely it can go a lon...

Re: Plastic Beer Bottles
Where are you getting it from? I was originally thinking AliExpress but then I've seen a lot of issues with cracked bodies etc so was thinking the chap that runs the Pegas.lt site. What do you think? Exactly that. his email address is info@pegas.lt. Worth asking him for a quote. The AliExpress ones...

Re: Tilt hydrometer/thermometer
I've done about 3 or 4 brews with mine. Initially it didn't work properly as it was fouling on my internal chiller coil. Now after making sure I place it on the outside of the coil it is working fine. I must admit I thought it was a bit of a fad but now find it really useful to keep track of the fer...
