Hops storage
I have quite a few bags hops but am not sure on how to store. They are all from the Malt Miller so Neale Brewing Supplies; some leaf some pellet. Once opened I fold the packet over and close with a crocodile clip and store in the freezer - is that correct? For unopened, vacuum packed hops I am stori...

Re: My BM has arrived... you can afford one too!!
I'm on a steep learning curve having gone from extract to 3V All Grain to Braumeister in under 4 months; however the results are highly drinkable! Brewing Software: lots of options; I have bought Beer Smith 2 on my iPad but not yet bought on my Mac but then saw mention of "Beer Engine" - what's that...

Re: My BM has arrived... you can afford one too!!
Based on this thread, and a lot of digging round, I have ordered the 20L BM, SS Hood, Chiller and Thermo. Didn't bother with the hop filter as it says not effective with pellets. However, Speidel are struggling to keep up with supply so 10 day wait and leave it any longer its a 3 week wait! Excellen...

Re: AG #49 Butser Bitter
If I could ask a very noob question about the Braumeister; volumes. How did you get 30L of wort in the FV on a system labeled as a Braumesiter 20L? I'm guessing this is down to the sparge; but how did you work out the volumes to end up with 30L?

Brew Day Mash Temp Woes
I'm waiting for my new mash tun to arrive; but one major issue I am having is accurately measuring the mash temp. On the last brew day my IKEA temperature probe, normally very accurate; told me my mash was 76 degrees when another Max-min digital thermometer was telling me 63.4 degrees and a handheld...

Rather than kick of a game of spot the difference - anyone know what the 'new model improvements' are?

How long in a King Keg?
King Keg question; I've got a family event at the end of April I want to do a brew and keg it for. How long does it take to mature / how long will it last in a King Keg? After the 2 weeks fermentation; into the secondary for batch priming then straight in the King Keg with a squirt of CO2? How long ...

King Keg Float Tube dimensions
The tube that connects the top tap on a King keg to the float on top of the beer is originally clear; mine is now opaque or worse and I'm looking to replace it. Does anyone know what size this tube is or where I can buy the replacement part without having to get the whole float assembly?

Re: Fullers London Pride AG clone
Excuse me dusting off this old thread; but I brewed the Graham Wheeler London Pride Recipe yesterday (I messed up the mash temp so OG ended up being 1035 rather than 1040). My question is the recipe ABV - it's only listed at 4% whereas the commercial London Pride is 4.7%. Me confused? Is there a Lon...

Re: bottle conditioning in garage, -1 temp predicted for Tue
Just a little bit to the west of you and all of beer is now in the garage; it will be at least 3-5 degrees warmer in the garage. As I type this reply at 7am Tuesday it's 1.3 degrees here in Emsworth and all my bottles in garage and just fine. Some have been out there since 1 January!

Many thanks - assumed it would be but thought I'd double check before making the modifications and a brew day in the next few days.

Silicon Tube safe in a Wort Boiler / Copper?
I've done a couple of All Grain Brews but there is quite a gap under the Bazooka hop filter in my Buffalo Boiler. I plan to get round this by using a Stainless Steel False Bottom (Have already ordered from http://www.brewbuilder.co.uk/index.php?_a=product&product_id=99). My question is; if I connect...
