You're going to need some lme or dme as well . First step will be to steep your crystal malt . I'd go something along the lines of this : 200g light crystal 50g dark crystal , chuck these in a muslin bag and steep in 5l of water at 65-70c for 30 min. Really happy with the result. It finished out at 1,002 so approx 6.4 % and at the drier end of medium dry .As WA predicted tastewise it's nowt exciting but it's definitely cider it's got a nice sharpness , has cleared nicely and the carbonated version is very refreshing . Cheers old bloke , a 10 min hop tea shouldn't do much in the way of bittering hopefully I'll just get a little citrussy hint from the cascade hops .oldbloke wrote:Hopped ciders are usually done as a late addition, for flavour rather than bittering. Nos, Look in `Other Brews`. `Cheap and Tasty Raspberryade` is a good place! :D Your TC might be bland. Mix it up with another Juice! My first attempt at Turbo Cider
Exactly what it says above, this is what I went with .
Turbo "Snap-shot" Cider Mk 1
4.7l Tesco everyday pure Apple juice
1 400ml ish mug 3 teabag tea stewed for 10 min (Tetley extra strong)
10g cascade hops in with the tea
1 level tsp cider/champagne yeast
OG 1,050

That's not a bad idea at all WA , I might knock up a clove , cinnamon & nutmeg tea or something to hoy in a few bottles then hide them somewhere so they actually make it to Christmas untouched Any recommendations on quantities ?
