this I's a pic of my boiler. The HLT has the elements in the same place. So I should position the probe at say 4 o'clock to that photo ?

Righty. All my parts have arrived now. I've got the tank connector that the probe will go into. Now where's the best place to stick the probe? In my keg HLT I've two immersion elements in. I've decided to add a PID to my setup so starting with the HLT. Thanks to adm for all his help. PID, probe, SSR and heatsink on there way from Auber. Yeah Defo not use your maxi. Build a Cfc instead to cool your wort quick after the boil.
I use my maxi after fermenting to chill n help drop all the sediment down to the bottom.

Well i bodged some 10mm copper under neath to strenghten it. Less flex now. Will See how she runs next brew.

I didn't really wAnt to add a shed load of legs n turn it into an upside down hedgehog lol.
I've some spare 10 mm copper so think I'll have a crack at an outer ring first.

i dont have that bottom radius you do kev, mine just curves all the way down to the center hole.
