for sure use decent hose if you can. i've drunk rubber flavoured water out of cheap hose and it's not nice!
you can still hard plumb the shed, but connect it up plug n play via removable hosepipe. that way it's easy to pack away and drain the system when not in use to stop pipes freezing.

Re: First attempts..
good to hear you're not getting disheartened at least! it gets easier though most of us still mess up occasionally.(and some more often than we'd like too. i had a beer shower just the other day as i was absent-mindely fiddling with my mates corny.. ). certainly with new equipment there is al...

Re: Blending Different Brews
20180222_204508.jpg :D but seriously it's great for picking up old beers with fresh ones, adding depth/flavour to brews, diluting a strong ale or just to drink something a bit different. careful blending can even make a bad beer drinkable sometimes. i once poured a whole keg of ipa and porter 50-50...

Re: Late Hop Additions with 'No-chill'
You can't get the same results with chilling as you can by using cube additions, so the best you can do really is to add them all as dry hop additions.

Re: FV... does size matter?
i think this is gonna come down to something like volume of beer vs length of fermentation vs airlock or open etc.. ..or in other words.. totally subjective to the individuals taste and methods. try it and see.. all that brulosophy experiment really proved was that most people don't put chinook in a...

Re: A total newbie to water treatment has some questions
1 yeah what meatymc said 3 no it's just a water report. and different beers will require different treatmenents anyways. the good news is that isn't difficult to work out. check out the water treatment section of this website or the craftbrewing forum for Aleman's easy guide. 4 any decent homebrew s...

Re: Small form-factor chassis mount connectors 32A?
neutrik do 32a connectors rated for 250v 1ø mains, safety earth. dunno what size they are but i'd reckon a fair bit smaller than the industrial ones.

Re: what to make?
Beer yeast fill stop at 1010 gravity,so what’s left will be a sweet mess. um, no it really wont.. you might get a slightly higher final gravity but nothing like 1,010. some yeasts would obviously suit better (flavour also) so be interesting to know which ya got, but some have a high alcohol ...

Re: Immersion chiller, think ill go back to no chill
yeah the geometry looks all out on that cooler. certainly not suprised you're struggling to chill with it though, even if you could get more of it submerged. i'd probably cut the tails and solder in a coupla elbows to let the coil sit horizontal in the kettle, but even then it only looks big enough ...

Re: Water Treatment Specialists - Warning Notice
it's a minefield for a newbie like me! it's really not, there's just a lot of people writing stuff out there that makes it seem that way. basic water treatment (the stuff that will give you the biggest improvement) is really straightforward. then if you wanna make it more complex from there it's up...

Re: Split batch recipe advice
if using us05 vs an english ale yeast i'd go for a porter. clean yeasts just make dull ale without a bucket of hops (even with them to be honest ), in my opinion. though to be honest i'd suggest a comparism of two english ale yeasts - maybe 007 and 005 or 023 - would be more revealing
