Re: TILT troubles!

I've just been looking at the tilt pro website: Specific Gravity resolution: 0.00001 - which seems impressive It doesn't seem to give a figure for accuracy though, that I could find. PeeBee or anyone else whose got one, would you possibly mind listing some of the chip part no's? I'm curious what gy...

Re: What should my FG be?

Hi Rich. My advise is you repost that photo of you stout without the spilled drop.

"WalesAles" is making a heck of a mess of his PC screen trying to lick the spill up.

Re: Two Yeasts For Old Perculier?

... However many online reports suggest it doesn't attenuate very well so was thinking of pitching a packet of Wilko Gervin (I understand its Nottingham in reality) a couple of days after pitching the M15...does that sound a reasonable plan? No ... it doesn't sound like a reasonable plan! Why'd you...

Smoother output (especially temperature, although the TiltPi has "smoothing" turned up too) and I have more faith that this behemoth is reporting FG fairly closely

Re: TILT [non-]troubles! Restarting a stuck ferment (with S-04)

Left this thread hanging a bit, so I'll tidy that up ... A few days after my last post I was resigned to having suffered a "stuck" ferment. But FG of 1.025 isn't that bad and I could see why I'd got a "stuck" ferment (under mashing Chevallier barley malt and using a dextrin adverse yeast; S-33). So ...

Re: Kegerator Fan

I'd say that's overkill as the fan only has to gently shift cold air collected at the bottom. ... Got you. I've got a twin probe thermometer looking for another job to do, so I'll get on it. But I do know the freezer tends to pool cold air at the bottom being a chest type. I think I'm viewing it fr...

Re: Kegerator Fan

I've been considering fans, but the big computer fans not the average 100mm jobs (120-140mm, but I've seen 200mm, and at least 2, perhaps 4). You can get arrays (for laptops?) or "bulk buys" for not too much. I might yet use 100mm fans in bodged into an array of six or so as I've got them sitting ab...

No need. That acronym hadn't crossed my mind ... perhaps it should of? Anyway, shh, people will start talking.

Re: A better spunding valve?

Eeek, my last post was completely off-topic. I'll be getting into trouble, so: This is the valve I use along with bits from the old useless spunding valve. https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/pneumatic-pressure-relief-valves/2108443/ I find it very granular and accurate. I played about with those SMC AP1...

Re: A better spunding valve?

:( No good. My "re-tunings" just not having the desired effect. "McM's" ramblings aimed at me just seem a bit tame now. It's "adaptions" seen to be wider in scope. I'll just have to keep my head down or people might start believing "McM" actually likes me! I'm sure I can look forward to some of "McM...

Re: A better spunding valve?

Here's my "better spunding valve": 20210821_182158_WEB.jpg :out !!! The relevant bit is the Shako NR200 regulator, the other bits are for controlled venting of pressure and mutually benefit from sharing components with the "spunding" valve. The spunding valve benefits from the large trap (water filt...

Re: Ales and Beers (17th, 18th and a bit of 19th Century)

… Interesting the smoke is more noticeable while the astringency declined and I wonder if that might be simply a comparative increase as I would expect both to reduce with time, like many flavours do. … Ha! So you fall foul of my favourite gripe. Claxons sound, lights flash (… I watch too much "QI"...

Re: Ales and Beers (17th, 18th and a bit of 19th Century)

Many thanks for your report. I look forward to further progress and your conclusions. A great mid-term report in an epic post. Thanks Eric! I might be posting as a "blog", but I still welcome feedback. Otherwise I might really lose my way! A small change to my last post: My keg cooling arrangements...

Re: A better spunding valve?

:D

That's more like it! And I thought you were going soft. I couldn't handle an "McM" that wasn't predictable.

Anyway, I've got to get back to a very important bit of "plagiarising" …
