Re: INTRODUCING: Seymour Citra Dark

Well I’ve just rebrewed this glorious beer again. It was a tough experience as I though I had shifted the flu I have had all week, turns out I was not as well as I thought, I am wrecked now! That said I hit every number bang on and have 23l of glorious black gold in the FV :) Anyone who’s not had a ...

Re: Where to stick it?

Mods I can’t be the only one getting a little sick of the combative nature of some of the posts recently, it spoils some good discussion......

I’m liking your beer names! Saison de Quirm is especially good. Need to get a CMOT Dibbler reference in somewhere!

Re: Calling Beer Engine experts

No I didn't replace the white piston ring thing. I didn't have a full set of service parts, just some o rings from B and Q. I would change everything for new if I were you (though I'm not sure if I ever got it dismantled far enough to get that white ring off). That white ring is hard to shift and t...

Re: Does rape honey make good mead?

Got to say I hate the rape honey and it’s a pain to deal with but it does seem to be popular with quite a few people, the jars go quick! Variety is the spice of life I guess, personally I love heather honey but that divides opinion as well and also has problems of its own! I’d love to be able to mak...

Re: Brew Con London - A Home Brewing Conference and Expo

Brewlab’s yeast talk was good but you couldn’t hear much of it for the crossover with the theatre next door - hopefully they’ll get that sorted next year. I think I spotted you and your dad and remember thinking that looked like a good idea for a day out! Ian We made a long weekend of it, hit some ...

Re: Brew Con London - A Home Brewing Conference and Expo

Quite, brewlab and Phil definitely the highlight. Enjoyed the sour beer talks and Des de Moor was entertaining as well.

Somewhat ironic that I’ve travelled to London to agree that BrewLabs were the best bit as I passed them on my journey down

Re: Brew Con London - A Home Brewing Conference and Expo

It was disappointing. Opened late, so lots of people standing around in the cold for half an hour. Not many exhibitors. The talks were at one end of the main hall with only one PA and one projector for two events happening at the same time making it difficult to hear the speaker. All in all very am...

It was pretty tricky to get an account when I went recently. They kindly loaded up a couple of hundred kgs into my car for me though, not all for me. Nice people. Not tried the grain yet
