Re: Small tank of oxygen for aeration?
Richard how much did the set up cost u for the O2? The ones I was looking at were around £60 for oxygen then £30+ for regulator then extras like hoses connectors and the air stone too. All together it was looking around £100 which is why I though bollocks to that! It was so long ago that I don't re...

What was wrong with your homemade one?vacant wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 8:30 pmAfter years using my own computer fan/hard disk magnet/phone charger, I found this Magnetic Stirrer so cheap I couldn't resist, With the 5% discount that was £16.18 delivered complete with a stir bar. Works perfectly.

Re: Should I get a Mill?
I am in two minds about a mill. I can easily buy everything crushed and a good one is a north of £200. So can a taste a £200 difference? Did a mill improve your beers? You can get a good mill for a lot less than £200, e.g. https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/malt-mill-3-roller/ One advantage of...

Re: Help Wanted. BM20 Plus top lip dimensions
Compatible it maybe. but the clamp is too small for a pre BM20 Plus models. so modification of the clamp is the cheapest, easiest route to take. The difference is so small I did not realise there was an issue until I tried to pull the clamp down. and it would not compress shut. Contacted Speidel an...

Re: Easy/mini kegs
12g of sugar is about right. You didn't kill the yeast, the sugar fermented, created CO2 and pressure, so the yeast must have been active.
The question is why wasn't more CO2 dissolved in the beer...trouble is I don't know the answer...may be to do with the temperature it was stored and served at?

Re: Dropping beer
A BM is a Braumeister. They are now selling a lid with a seal so you can ferment in the Braumeister rather than transferring to a fermenter after the boil.

Have you got in to water treatment yet? That was my next big step after the fermentation fridge.

Re: Oxidised Beer from moving fermentator
So, with my last brew I moved fermentator from upstairs to the shed to cold crash (and subsequently add gelatin). The brew got oxidised. I'm now trying to retrace my steps to avoid this happening again. Here are the possible problems: 1. When I moved it outside, then back in, it splashed about a lo...

Re: Proper job Clone
I tasted Proper Job last week for the first time. Coors have a lot to answer for producing such crap beer. What are you reading? St. Austell isn't a Coors minion. Maybe he is saying "if St Austell can produce a beer as good as Proper Job then why can't Coors? They have a lot to answer for about the...

May be the first time the cap wasn't sealed properly so the CO2 escaped, then when you added the sugar the cap did seal.

Re: Braumeister new touch screen
It's not about me thinking I'm a better brewer. I believe the comments you posted (above) introduced that idea. I was merely pointing out that I reckon I could produce a better beer using an extract kit than you could using a BrewTools kit, based on the fact I've covered the fermentation side on th...
