I think the problem with the incalloy ones are you can clean the coating off when cleaning it. Ordinary copper ones are fine.

Re: How much cooling 'power' does a cornelius beer cooler have?
Couldn't you use 2 maxi chillers 1 set to ale temp 1 to lager? I think some have differnet lengh cooling lines so already can dispense at 2 temps or if you set the lager to go through it slower in will dispense it slower.

Re: Kettle elements
I used exactly 1 of those years ago, I can't remember but I don't think it comes with a seal you can use the seal from a £5 kettle but then you mat as well use the element from it as well.

They contain 0.44g of sodium metabisulfite plus some sort of filler needed to make it a tablet, the powder like jack said may be pure.

Re: Hambleton Bard presure barrels - replacing seals etc
If there the same as the 2 I have neither of the 2 replacement seal sizes for 4" barrels fit it and though replacement lids seem to fit they will not seal as the thread is different. So I have 2 but only 1 seal between them but they do work well if you do have the parts.

Re: S30 right angle
I was thinking what fil said then read him saying it but after thinking about it I suspect the S30 cylinders don't have a dip tube. Reason for this is they do have issues freezing open if open to long and 1 second should release nearly 8ml of liquid. but I am no at all sure.

Re: from immersion wort chiller to plate chiller
In my opinion if you can chill it in an hour stick with the immersion setup as there's just nothing to go wrong especially if your not currently using any pumps.

Re: Sorry, still need some clarification with Stan San
Just out of interest, I am assuming starsan doesn't work just because its PH <3 ie you can't just use any liquid under PH 3 to sanitise. Am I right or does PH<3 sanitize with any liquid and starsan is just a good way to get there.

Re: Low abv- how to improve mouth feel/body?
Just a thought, if you are force carbonating it could you stabilise it early like wine? This way you could have the FG as high as you want and very clear. I have never heard it done but can't see any problems as long as you can force carb it.

If its under volume and you think it will make it over on the OG then I don't see the problem. You can always wait until its cooled and check the gravity then decide.

Re: Fermentation temp control
At that volume you will likely not need heating unless the room get seriously cold as fermentation will generate alot of heat and by the time its finished you will want it cold anyway.
