Re: Anyone used "bouncer in-line beer filter"?
Are you saying you pitch after dumping trub then? No, I pitch when I get it in FV. Attached is what I dumped last one I did at 24 hours I thought so. My worry is you are also dumping yeast into the bargain and the colour of that suggests you are too. From what I've read (can't find the source right...

Re: Anyone used "bouncer in-line beer filter"?
I would respectfully suggest that if you have "small bits that block the poppets" in your finished beer you review your whole brewing process. Because this should not be happening. I would respectfully suggest you re-read my original post slowly  I've re-read it and you are filtering the fini...

Re: Anyone used "bouncer in-line beer filter"?
Sounds like no-one has used this sort of filter for filtering between boiler and fermenter. I guess I need to find a way to reduce the trub in my boil and then either use a better filter in the boiler or be selective as to what I run into the fermenter. Not that it is translating into super cloudy ...

Re: Anyone used "bouncer in-line beer filter"?
So you can see the size, this is a sealed transfer from my FV to keg (as mentioned above) Had 400g of dry hops so even with crash cooling I was still getting the few odd pieces of hop matter coming through and clogging the poppet / disconnect which would mean stopping the transfer and cleaning it a...

Re: Anyone used "bouncer in-line beer filter"?
I use one to go from FV to keg and its awesome but im not sure how the little one would cope with a lot of hop material tbh. I've normally crashed cooled and i'm just trying to stop the small bits that block the poppets I would respectfully suggest that if you have "small bits that block the poppet...

Re: False bottom
Yeah, perforated stainless isn't cheap, though it works pretty well and so IMO no bad investment. The false bottom (or equivalent) really is the key to a decent mash tun - especially if you ever want to fly sparge. It has always seemed fairly good value compared to drilling your own or getting a cu...

Re: False bottom
Ive ordered 1mm thick perf plate with 2mm holes, 20 m6 bolts with dome head nuts. Planning on 17 contact points so hopefully that's enough, cost £40 all in so the brewbuilder one is actually a good price. If I hadnt had ordered the bolts already id have prob just ordered from him when I saw the pric...

False bottom
Just finished my thermopot conversion no now thinking about false bottom, I usually mash in a bag so not sure If I should go for anything expensive or not. The brew builder one looks great and I did think about trying to make my own but wondered if they scratch the mash tun ? I assume if I didnt use...

Re: Conical Recommendations
Just to add to above RE the brewbuilder conical, the upgrade to butterfly valves was only £24... DO IT ! Also allow for the racking cane, I didnt order one originally but it makes getting the beer out much easier as the yeast / hop matter cant fill the racking port.
