Did the packets have batch numbers? If so you could always report it and let whomever you bought the yeast from know

And 6 hours isn't long in a starter. There is a lag time and it can take longer to get going. I've used White Labs but never Wyeast before. Is this your first go with liquid yeast?

Get some micro scales that measure in 0.1g increments.

BIAB is all grain. It's just a different method to traditional 3 vessels etc.

BIAB is great. If you get any issues in your first couple of brews don't give up. It sometimes takes a while to get the consistency you are after

I did look at hop spiders. The Mangrove Jack one on Grainfathers site is £34 and is 800 micron mesh which some say is not fine enough for pellet hops. No filter is good for pellets and because the grainfather has a smallish diameter whirlpool will be difficult. Try a hop spider. Made mine for about £10

The cheap yellow pH meters are fine. I always calibrate with buffer solution

I tend to use mine for cleaning lines and the occasional pet bottle for homebrew club. I use the cheap Chinese Pegas type for bottling a few bottles at a time

Very easy. PET requires no washer. Glass requires the washer to be fitted
