splitting 50gr pack
Our local homebrew club have a 500gr of WHC saturated yeast that we plan to split into 25gr packs and vacuum seal them. I am aware that dried yeast can deteriorate once opened so does anyone have any suggestions on how I proceed

Re: using a corney as a cask
@LeeH I see you have a Sabro NEIPA on the go. This cask brew I have on has that Hop along with Belma and Galaxy. I did a NEIPA earlier this year with Sabro as one of the hops and it was megga. I hope this combo I have here does the business

Re: using a corney as a cask
The one I have fermenting now is for a club day out so it will be gone that day. But future brews will be drank slower.

Re: Off Flavours
I believe in having copious amounts of notes for brew day as often weeks later when an issue with a beer pops up I can start with the notes taking on the day. As regards your issue you think it comes from an equipment change. This may be so and DMS and its precursor SMM may be your culprit. Here is ...

using a corney as a cask
I want to use a corney with a floating dip tube s a cask. It will be as normal standing upright. Planning on having it at approx 1.5 volumes co2 and wonder how best to keep the lid pressured sealed and that volume :?:. I will have an aspitator/breather valve attached to the gas in post to hlp when I...

Re: WHC Bond dead in the wort
I have moved away from wet yeast for now as they can be, Like above has, be hit and miss. This yeast is available in a dry form too. I had West Yorkshire yeast for my Cask ale and used some of the slurry to brew a red ale. Both beers were failures and while I suspect some other issues I noticed that...

Re: Beer line for Kegerator
If you know any Heineken delivery guys you could ask them to collect you the 6mm OD beer line with fittings on them to serve from the 20 liter steel corney type kegs they deliver to restaurants. They are used once and dumped. The line is 1.5 meters and you can buy john guest fittings 6mm pipe to 8 m...

Re: Should I get a Mill?
Keeping grains fresh until crushed especially the aromatic ones is definitely why you want a personal grain crusher. When I get uncrushed grain delivered I put them into white sealed buckets to keep them as fresh as I can and then only take and crush as I brew.

Re: Should I get a Mill?
One thing to note if you are buying crushed is if its not being sitting too long in a storeroom which you will not know. The other thing is if you buy say 5 kg crushed and plan to use 3.5 kg then you need to make sure you don't leave all the flour in the bag with the remaining 1.5 kg.

Bualadh Bos To Grainfather
When you hear about buying cheap and end up with something that does not last or you cannot get parts for because the company making it do not support it, well not so with Grainfather. They make a top notch designed machine and if you need support they respond efficiently and quickly. I broke a part...

If you buy the old school type like I did €9 then it just has a BIG clock that also has a magnifying glass on it. I'd say it was design so when you bend over to peep past your belly you can read the number
