Re: control panel alarm question
I thought that might be the case, your no/nc are normally open and normally closed contacts ( like what has just been said). With that in mind you would not need the 240v led driver. All that would be needed is a 12v voltage source to one side of the normally open contact and the other side conected...

Re: control panel alarm question
Just a quick question is the alarm output from your pid actually 240v?
I ask because i suspect its actually just a normally open contact that is rated at 240v but not actually outputting 240v. Have you got a voltage meter to test this?

Re: No chill container lids
I have the size/ code that is printed on the label but still not seen anything thing that is clearly the correct size. I think as you say will message the seller to see if they can supply the new lids, but i suppose the price for the new containers isnt that much so i could just get some new ones. I...

Re: Airlocks- why?
For me personsonally i have used both the airlock and the lid just cracked open method. When i first started i would just crack the lid open a bit and never had any infection problems. But i have moved onto using an airlock for two reasons, one, i like the idea of the closed vessel and two, its alwa...

Re: Draining a mash tun
Hi all. I made my 2nd AG brew yesterday. I use a stainless keg with the top cut off as a mash tun. I have fitted a perforated false bottom connected by silicone tube to the outlet, controlled by a ball valve. I bought the false bottom from my local HB shop, and Ive seen pictures of very similar ite...

Re: Bottling day
I think the pink sanitiser you are seeing is just normal starsan. This sanitizing device has a red part that sits inside the clear bit making the liquid look pink from that angle.oakerspocus wrote:What is the pink sanitiser that you are using?

Re: Malting Barley & Growing Hops.
I'm from Lincolnshire as well. I grew both cascade and challenger this year. It was the first year of the plants growth but I was surprised at how well it grew and the amount of hops it produced.

Re: 210l b&q water butt
I use a similar one for its intended purpose i.e. a water butt. When i got it i lifted off the lid and saw there was some pipework loose inside. So in i go head first to retrieve said pipe work. Well never again the fumes and smell coming off the barrel makes me think its definetly not food safe. Ok...

Re: Bottling wands and headspace
As whats been said above. Just fill it right up to the rim and then lift the wand out. I seem to remember a bit back i measured how many ml was in the bottle using this method but carnt remember the number.

Re: How clear is your vorlauf?
At first i was a bit hung up about how clear the runnings needed to be. I jugged quite a few before i was satisfied and even then it wasnt that clear. The last few brews i have had problems with lots of grain getting past the false bottom so in the end i gave up with the jugs as it was not getting a...
