I.e.
Injected builders foam into walls and top after removing loose polystrene
I use this method and using towels wrapped around outside have found it to be very efficient loosing up to 1oC over 90 mins

water treatment
First time I have tried water treatment.
Current 23 ltrs @ 1060 20C in boiler.
When boil is finished does the top up water also have to be treated or can I use straight from the Tap

What effect does it have upon the beer itself
Ok it puts a blanket of CO2 over the surface , but does it permeate the beer and give it more life.
If it does is it necessary to rock the barrel to allow greater surface contact with the beer.
The beer currently is flat when the dispensing head dissapears

Ok I am coming around to the common way of thinking Cornelius wise I am interested in the One Norm Offers including the Tap. He states that it is a permanent fixture but Is it possible to have a dispensing system that is more flexible amongst other Cornies. i.e. if I wish to hook up to another brew ...

A word of warning On my particular model coolbox the handles are Sprung loaded into the sides and the lid sealed by action of the handle. I and another forum member lifted for whatever reason the coolbox when loaded with hot water and grain. Lifting at an angle released the handle and the whole box ...

I use a standard £14.00 coolbox from Wilkinson. Max 6Kg grain Took out all the loose sheets of polystyrene, reassembled and drilled holed through the outer skin in appropiate positions around the perimeter. Hole size dependant on Builders filler foam (B&Q etc). Recommend supporting inside to main...

Hi DaaB the reasoning behind the dip tube is that the brew would have dropped bright on filling and in theory the set up would be very similar to the Cornie method only less expensive to set up. There also has been several posts lately of corrosion, failing seals etc when using Cornies. Temperature ...

King Keg type barrel Vs Cornie
I have finished brewing for this current year and considering developing my gear for next year. The forum seems to prefer the Cornie shinny route I currently think I would like to go the King Keg 4" top type of barrel. 1/ Because larger storage capacity 2/ Purchase cost e.g. 2nd user easily availabl...
