It ended up not being too bad a night. Got chatting to the owner, who's a nice bloke and they got presented with an award from CAMRA whilst I was there.

There's a north east homebrew club meet up at the Town Mouse in Newcastle tonight at 7pm.

It's a Facebook group (I'm not on Facebook myself) but I intend on gatecrashing if anyone else is interested?

Assuming you're aiming for 5%ABV, I make that roughly 3% of the grain bill. I reckon that's ample.

Any particular reason you made a starter? From my experience there's no need as rehydrating should be sufficient. Nah there was no sharpness that I perceived, it's a drop in the ocean in a 5 gallon brew.
