Re: Time to Stand Up for English Hops

Coniston Bluebird is 100% challenger I think, it's a great beer on cask. I'm looking forward to brewing it for the first time when I get enough free time

Re: AG#94 - Hooded Embarrassment

That looks good

I used 100g of Mount Hood and some hallertau as late additions to one of my recent brews and it came out rather nice. It's been in the bottle of about a month now, I think it still needs a couple weeks longer

Re: " Ditch's Stout " Master Class .....

I'm bottling my coopers stout today, I used 900g LME from holland & barett and 450g of homemade brewers invert no2 and brewed it to 21l . Hopefully it will be flavoursome. I did switch to all grain earlier in the year but time has been short over the last month so I thought I'd try the stout kit tha...

Re: Brewers Gold

Yeah it's just hop bursted

I had a pint of it a while ago and loved it, not made it yet though. So of course I searched for a recipe for it after trying it and bookmarked it

Re: Brewers Gold

Is Crouch Vale Brewers Gold made with it? Because that is a great beer. Champion Best Bitter at the Great British Beer Festival 2003, this is a pale, refreshing and hoppy beer with gorgeous aromas of tropical fruits. Now multi-award winning! Supreme Champion Beer of Britain at the Great British Beer...

Re: Best Bitter? Recipe Wanted

Here's another alternative suggestion

Image

Invert is no2 to provide some flavour - you'd need to make your own

also that recipe was for a slightly stronger beer so use less bittering hops, maybe 45g or so instead

Re: International Homebrew Project

Looking at Ron's blog, it seems Cluster was used extensively, which probably isn't surprising given the fact that the UK was just about the worlds tops beer producer back then and the US produced little other than cluster. And the UK probably couldn't produce enough hops to satisfy demand. And I ass...

Re: SNPA clone

Hey my first AG was a SNPA clone from homebrewtalk and it was really rather good. I can't find the exact recipe but this one very much like what I did 6 gallons (US I assume) 75% efficiency OG: 1.052 (before bottle conditioning, 1.054 after) FG: 1.011 10.5lbs American 2-row 14oz Crystal 60 (English ...

Re: Partigyle RIS and ???

You could do your Imperial, then just do a weaker coffee/chocolate/liquorice/Unicorn tears etc stout Blend the first runnings and second ones to get your desired pre boil gravities. Or, if you are feeling very adventurous, do something like this :o http://barclayperkins.blogspot.co.uk/2010/04/lets-b...

Re: Interesting yeast behaviour

If the lid is off completely then it might keep a bit cooler? So less vigorous fermentation. Maybe

I got a bit of a shock using WLP530 for the first time, it erupted. Must have lost a few litres

Re: Using Nottingham yeast to finish what Windsor couldn't?

No idea on that front when you mentioned 67 degrees I thought you said that was your mash temp, not your ferment temp Notty likes attenuating a lot, it might go too far although I've never pitched one yeast onto another. there might well be another yeast like s33 or t-58 that might not attenuate qui...
