Re: Maxi110 cooler meets Grainfather Conical Fermenter
I was thinking of using the pressure bypass valve so that the return flow is effective for the maxi. This is the valve i was looking at, at the mo' - https://www.anchorpumps.com/1-2-13mm-brass-pressure-relief-valve-bypass-valve I do have one of those spunding valves, didn't think about using that, s...

Re: Maxi110 cooler meets Grainfather Conical Fermenter
I don't think there is anything wrong with the way you do it, this is just a different idea, based on the diagram I found. What I'm thinking of is leaving the maxi on all the time, and not adding a temp controller to it or modifying it. Then taking the output of the pump on the maxi to the fermenter...

Re: Maxi110 cooler meets Grainfather Conical Fermenter
I'm thinking of having a play with my maxi again sometime for controlling fermentation temp, I was just reading https://www.probrewer.com/library/refrigeration/everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-glycol/ I'm thinking using a pressure bypass valve you could then use the maxi's pump output directly an...

ratchetting mains wire crimper for spade terminals?
Can anyone suggest a ratchetting mains wire crimper for spade terminals?
I'm looking to crimp spade terminals to 6mm mains wire, for 4.5kW elements.
Cheers!

Re: Which Hydrometer?
Just to clarify, what do you mean by you can't read it, what reading did you get from it?
Did you take an original gravity reading before fermentation with a hydrometer what did you get for that?

Re: Obtaining barley seeds suitable for malting
Oooh very nice! Roughly how much barley did you get in weight after cutting it?
You malted it too then?
I've just been reading - https://www.sprowtlabs.com/2017/02/23/h ... lt-at-home

Re: Kegmenter DIY
Looking very shiny
And can see the nice welding now
Thanks for the link on your thermopot copper coil system too. The expanding foam usage is especially
interesting to me at the moment, as I'm wondering about using some around my plastic mash tun.

Re: Obtaining barley seeds suitable for malting
I couldn't find any there alas. I eventually managed to grab some and have planted a very small amount
just to watch it grow heh, it's just now started sprouting.
Will try my hand at malting a small amount too.

Re: Kegmenter DIY
Looks very nice! How did you cut the fitting for the 4" triclamp out of interest and is it soldered / TIG'd ? It sounds a very interesting project with the spunding valve etc. I bought one of these ones I need to play with - https://www.kegland.com.au/blowtie-diaphragm-spunding-valve-kit.html (from ...

Obtaining barley seeds suitable for malting
Hi,
Does anyone know anywhere online that sells small quantities
of barley suitable for malting, with specific varieties?
From my limited searching it seems very hard to find anywhere that sells
in small quantities and gives a price.
Cheers

Re: IPA brewday vid
Just saw your message @guy, The last brew I made was in November if I recall correctly, which I was quite pleased with, a 9% RIS aged for a couple of months on whisky chunks. I'm currently thinking about saving up for an insulated mash tun, which I've not got at the moment, which I think would be a ...
