Youngers 1913 No3 ale.
Ron Pattinson, has a couple of Youngers recipes that use nearly as much maize as pale malt, has anyone made a brew of this , and is it good ale. They kept making this ratio of grains until 1930 as Ron says, I* like a bit of corn, but 45+ per cent is unusual?

There used to be a good list of grains and sugars, using u.k gallons, and lbs, and what you could expect in og,. I*t was better than Beersmiths grain list, as it didnt use US gallons. Is there such a table or list around some where?

Re: Brewing sugar in the boil
I have just brewed Double Diamond from DLs book, and wondered if anyone knows how to replace the hop extract that he often uses for dry hopping. None of the suppliers keep it nowadays , and DL never stated the IBU of any recipe Perhaps Brambling cross EKG or fuggles, his usual varieties?Any ideas.

Bitter and Mild IBU,s
In most brew recipes, I notice that some milds have a higher I(BU than some of the3 bitters mentioned, is there any reason why, for instance, whould a strong mild need a higher IOBU count than a weaker one. Also what *IBU is the border between the two styles.
