Re: Crusader Queries

Embarrassingly, I have all the bits for this but haven't had time to hook it all up yet. Spray ball only turned up a week or so ago though - that's my excuse. I use mine all the time, makes cleaning kegs so much easier. The only problems I’m finding with my pressure fermenting setup is the sediment...

Re: Crusader Queries

That's awesome, do you have a list of parts that you used for the keg cleaner? It’s a Draper 36327 Water Butt Pump A 3/4 to 1/2 adapter so you can attach the spray ball. And a 1/2 half inch spray ball. Stick it in a bucket with 10 litres of hot cleaning solution (PBW) and a trivet to hold the keg u...

Re: Crusader Queries

There's a guide here I'm intending to follow: http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=74270&p=774969#p774969 Cheers to swingingpig for that. He's using a 30L Crusader and connected to a Corny. The spunding valve is on the corny and the excess CO2 generated by fermentation not only ca...

Re: Braumeister diseister!

I had similar problems with the grainfather when I first got it. The wort wasn't clear and it was terribly slow at sparging. I now add 5% oat husks to every brew, there £2.40 a kg from the malt miller, so not expensive. I've not had a problem since, crystal clear wort every time, and sparging goes s...

Re: Crusader Queries

Yes. I bought them in April. Might be worth asking if there's been any changes to the spear design since then.

Re: Crusader Queries

Pics as promised This is the setup for my bar tap. The connector adds about 6 inch to the height https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170725/3dfca141f702b333d5d28b6e3d228f5c.jpg This is the carbonation connector. Instead of pointing upwards it bends to the side. This only adds 4.5 inch to the height. ...

Re: Crusader Queries

The 30l kegs are much cheaper from kammac. Mine were £139 delivered for two.

I'll pm you the details.

I'll measure up for you tonight when I get home.

Re: Water profile

Personally I don't see the benefit of sending your water off to get tested, unless your willing to have it done on a regular basis and build up a reference database, as it only gives a snapshot of the water at that point in time, by the time you get the results your water could be completely differe...
