As I understand it 30l is pretty big for a HERMs boiler! I use 40l buffalo's at the moment for my HLT and copper and they don't heat up that quickly!

Re: circulating fan
Do you really need a fan in a fridge? I can't imagine the temperature varies that much in such a small space?

I think I have some cutting paste somewhere in the garage so that'll work. Thanks for the tip though!

Preferred method of cutting Stainless Steel?
Hi all, I've finally taken delivery of a new 56l boiler (from TheHomeBrewShop.co.uk) however need to make some additional holes for an extra element and built in whirl-pooler amongst other things. I've trawled Google for most of today and there seem to be 3 main ways of making new holes in stainless...

Re: some recommendations for my ag setup
I'll use a voltage regulator of some sort so I can control the flow to the correct rate. I currently move the wort from the MT to the Copper using a pump and this works well (no stuck sparges yet)

Re: some recommendations for my ag setup
I have a MT that size and use 40l Buffalo's as HLT and Copper. The only time I ever filled the MT was brewing a Russian Imperial Stout, and in hindsight I should have just brewed a smaller batch and not stuck to 23l as standard! For the vast majority of the brews there is no issue with space in the ...

Re: Jaipur Brewday at Thornbridge Hall
Nice write up. I recently brewed my take on Jaipur so it was interesting for me to see your take on the recipe too! For 5g mine was: 5.50 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (5.9 EBC) 500.0 g Vienna Malt (6.9 EBC) 12.0 g Centennial [10.0%] - Boil 60 min 10.0 g Warrior [15.0%] - Boil 60 min 10.0 g Ahtanum [6.0...

Re: What's the one thing i can do to improve my beer?
I have never done 1 2 or 3 and my kit produces good beer. How long are leaving it until drinking? Im an impatient b****rd and always jump in early and detect a home brew taste or a certain "green, chewey tang2 - but a few months down the line the same beer tastes better than anything shop bought My...
