Re: Citra IPA with blitzed hops
Hey there Killer, how's the craft beer scene going up there in Paris? Big things are finally begin to happen down here in the rural olde Limousin. I'm in touch with Brandon at the Cave a Bulles in Paris, we're hoping between us micros and the Chambre de commerce here to be getting a few more Limousi...

Re: Late Hop Red I.P.A - Columbus, Apollo and Amarillo
Apollo is a great hop, my best selling beer bar none is an IPA (albeit, i'm told a tad darker than the style dictates as i use a whack of Amber malt and Special B in there BUT Sam Calagione from Dogfish head recently told me he likes it a lot - we did a beer swap) bittered to 96IBU with Apollo and C...

Re: Show us your brewery
Yes i think no matter what kit you use it's important to keep at least some records. You don't have to be writing every 14 seconds but at least, liquor volumes, treatments, grain bill & hop quantities, yeast - if dry was it rehydrated etc etc) and also things like how long were the late/post boil ho...

Re: Show us your brewery
Not the best pics, it's a bit cramped and it's all getting ripped out again soon to make way for becoming the bottling room while the brewing moves into a larger area. Right to left, HLT, MT, Underback/whirlpool, Copper (with I/C in place. http://artibrassage87.com/brewery/001.jpg Ah, pretty much th...

Re: Does anybody use an alcoholometer like this?
From what I can figure out based on re-reading the listing is that the ALC% displayed is purely the theoretical alcohol that the Plato reading could ferment to, NOT what the alcohol content of the sample being taken is. I also periodically calibrate my refractometer with distilled water and against ...

Re: AG#103 - Farmhouse Rye Noir
Peanut butter and liquorice?!
Things are going well, a little too well as I am struggling to keep up really. I need a gear upgrade asap. Got a small selection of beers in a couple of local bars too, which is nice.

Re: Does anybody use an alcoholometer like this?
My refractometer is a godsend, I use it all the time during a brew only periodically taking a wort sample for my hydrometer. Hydrometers are a pain at high temps, even with the various (mostly different and contradictory) conversion tables around. The tiny sample needed for a refractometer cools vir...

Re: Help! 750ml Leffe style bottles. Where from?
Cheers Tony but Belter's right. I just want the bottles or the same sort of style. Besides Leffe is now owned by InBev Belgium, part of the Anheuser-Busch beer ruining machine, blurghh! Did anyone read the article recently about AB trying to shut down a new craft brewery in London because the name w...

Help! 750ml Leffe style bottles. Where from?
Hi folks, I've been trying to track down a supplier of the brown, champagne style bottles as used by Leffe for example. All I keep finding are green ones. I've had a supplier here say that they don't exist and I must have green... I sent them a link to a photo of a bottle of Leffe. The regular, brow...
