Re: Cheap One Pot Klarstein

I did a small brew with the Klarstein, It’s not as good as a BM, But its pretty good, I think I will be using it for all of my small batches. Its very quick and easy to use and clean up. The element is switch able between 1500w and 3000w, and so will heat up really quickly. The element is below the ...

Re: Cheap One Pot Klarstein

Hi Phil Yeah point taken, And it’s the same for any system, to be sure of the actual temperature recirculate, or give it a stir. Im always careful with new kit to measure temperature and stir the mash, Until im sure how kit works during a few brew days. It does have a malt tube. I didnt want a one w...

Re: Cheap One Pot Klarstein

Not shiny enough. I wraped my BM with a camping mat, The beer was shiny enough for me.

The Klarsein arrived just now, And I have to say,
The build quality is really good. The stainless steel is very nice and the boiler has a double wall.
I'll do a brew after the weekend and update this post.

The first thing I notice is there is no RIMS, which is a significant draw back. No step Mash feature either, which is less significant.
Rims ? on a one pot system.

Re: Cheap One Pot Klarstein

It looks like its the same model sold in the US as a Brewer's Edge Mash N Boil.
UK/EU model has 1500w/ 3000w. US model is 110v and 1000w/1600w.

I've seen it on the self in Morrisons.
Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsburys have it available on there websites, so I think its still widely available.

Re: Recommend me decent immersion chiller

I bought an imersion chiller back in 2010 it was cheaper to buy than make my own. I bought one from Leyland homebrew, I have used it for about the last 300 brews, Cools in about 20 mins. Cant see me ever needing to replace it. https://www.leyland-home-brew.co.uk/copper-immersion-wort-chiller-1042-p....
