Re: Arduino Project: HLT volume display using bathroom scale
I used mine for a "proper brew"last week.
Calibrated it with fvs filled to certain levels for a theoretical known volume. Worked a treat.
No more humping water and full mash tuns for me!

Depends on the crush etc but between 20 and 40 should be ok. I get mine on ebay. Just search stainless mesh and ...

to treat or not to treat
Hi all.
I am almost finished making a mash paddle but wondered if i should treat it with anything afterward or leave it raw so to speak.

Re: dry hopping with pellets...
You're probably not going to want to reuse yeast from a DIPA anyway as it's going be pretty battered at that ABV. Turned out at around 108å. Under what i wanted. I forgot to adjust efficiency for the high og wort doh! Eitherway, the recipe came from the head brewer and asked for wlp 007... i used s...

Re: dry hopping with pellets...
My fv has a tap so there should be no trouble. Brewday thread to come but i used a slurry and have never known an explosive ferment like it in a paleish ale

dry hopping with pellets...
Hi.
I am about to brew a DIPA that will have 100 g in dry hop.
I want to use pellets for this.
Can i just drop them in the fv or would it be better to rack to secondary and drop them in a bag here?

Re: carahell?
Is it the Weyermann product? Which version of Beersmith do you have? With the current version, you can select Weyermann malts in the add on options. I'm at work at the moment so cannot give you exact instructions but you can find out how to do it using google. Hope that helps Cheers Jason its the p...

Re: boiler drainage issue. help please
ahh due to the slower flow and larger bore tube, air is backing up the down tube... got it,, the penny drops as if through treacle this end at times.. then .. i think a small bore inline siphon tap at the tube end could create the bottleneck and sort it ;) found a short bit of 12 mm id silicone tub...

Re: Arduino Project: HLT volume display using bathroom scale
I bought a package scale for under the MT. Means i dont have to lift water or full mt to the stand. Great for weighing grain too.

Re: boiler drainage issue. help please
Ok. I will try to simplify it. With the fitting above and an 8" length of tube there is no real speed in the run off and it does not run in a solid column. Run off stops with about 10 l in the boiler. With the elbow removed and a 4" copper pipe in place with a hose barb on the end the run off is fas...
