Re: Automated Control Valves.

Spring return valves shut off pretty quick unless you have throttled back the exhaust.

They look the job from RS, if you want them I'll see what I can get them for.

Re: Automated Control Valves.

Don't the diaphragm valves need pressure at both sides to close?

I'm not a valve expert but I have had a headache of a job with diaphragm valves due to pressure differences. We ended up replacing them with ball valves as the reliability was poor.

Automated Control Valves.

Fail safe pneumatic ball valves are a industry standard in the food sector. Very simple in design but you would need a small compressor which are noisy unless you have a decent budget. You can have you solenoid on the valve and run a cable, or put the sols in your control panel and run a hose to it.

Evil Dog Not So Evil.

So, I chucked it in the FV at a steady 20deg for 2 weeks, then made the hop tea and chucked the tea and bags in for another week. I kegged it today and it smelt great in the bin, but I didn't get a huge hop hit from the sample in the little bottler. It didn't smell that hoppy in the keg/bottle. Unli...

But the 4 way chrome one looked interesting. LeeH cheers, I'll contact them about UK shipping. You can get a quote at the checkout. I bo...

Re: Starsan

What you have to remember is, when you pour out the bulk of it from your bottle, there will be some clung to the surface. So contact time won't have finished instantly.

I just shake up the star san I left in the bottle before storage, pour and fill, the foam gets forced out the top.

Starsan

I'm sure Mr Starsan said it only needs a contact time of seconds. The time quoted is a minimum they have to quote by law.

Re: Grape concentrate

On the 21st April I put 2 litres of Asda's pressed white grape juice and 750g of sugar in a demijohn, along with half a teaspoon of nutrient, half a teaspoon of citric acid and a pack of Gervin yeast. Fined it yesterday and it is starbright. Total cost about £3.50 for a gallon. Early indications ar...
