Re: Transferring from cask to keg?
Ive done this a few times. Tap and vent the cask, keep checking the beer to make sure its running clear, as soon as it is (usually about 6 to 12 hours) Purge the Cornelius keg with Co2, attach a line from tap to cornelius keg and run at a trickle the beer down the inside of the keg, this should cut ...

Re: Bottle Conditioned Beers - Supermarkets
I've bought a couple of bottles of Proper Job (St Austell Brewery) which I'm hoping to recover from. Belting pint on draft in North Devon and is a genuine bottled conditioned. Can't say whether it's conditioned with the fermenting yeast though - time will tell. Just checked on mysupermarket web sit...

Re: Deep clean
I think the deep clean may have sorted the problem. I ran a hose pipe to the outlet and turned the tap on. the amount of old crud that came out of the hop filter was astonishing. Ive done a deep deep strong bleach run through. basically ran a brew with a strong bleach through pumps, fermenter, boile...

Re: Deep clean
Thanks...
I'll follow this. I've managed to get some caustic from a brewery mate and plan to do a run through with this and follow it with boiling water.
When it's brewday..Day after I'll run through with a thin bleach solution and follow it again with boiling water

Deep clean
Over the last few brews I've had a boiled cabbage taste to a few brews. This has knocked by brewing mojo sideways somewhat. Someone has suggested that I've got an infection somewhere or it could be DMS. So deep clean time. I've got a gap on Tuesday for a deep clean of everything. What do you recomme...

Hallertau Blanc
On a whim I bought some Hallertau Blanc hops on the understanding that they resemble Nelson.
I'm planning a single hopped pale with them and wondered what experiences peeps have had with them?
