Re: 14 session beer recipes
Hey Clibit, I liked the sound of the Saison De Table and Rye wit if you're happy to send the recipes.

Re: Brew Dog Recipes
That's mind blowing. I do a 90min mash, 60min boil as standard. Cutting an hour from the brew day would make it more a brew session.
Will definitely have to see if I can get that high efficiency on my system.

Re: Brew Dog Recipes
I've bought the gear to make a batch of Alpha Dog and just realised the mash time on the recipe is 25mins. This must surely be a typo so I've taken it as a 75min mash. For a sanity check thought Id ask if anyone knew of a reason why they would just waft the malt over the liquor?

Re: Brew Dog Recipes
Just had an email from the lads at Brew Dog with the updated recipe book 2.0. Very bold move to include all the beers they plan to do in 2016.

Re: Columbus RyePA
Looks like a cracking batch. A rye ale is on my ever increasing to make list. I've tried the spent grain baking. The flapjack makes a particularly good cycling snack. Brooklyn brewery's spent grain chef has quite a few decent recipes if you have more grain to use up http://brooklynbrewshop.com/thema...

Blimey didn't realise it was that bad. Thanks for the heads up. I'll forage for a bottle but imagine the consensus is well founded.
This idea of a tasty school night ale must be a unicorn.

Re: Brew Dog Recipes
I printed out a few to try out. #14 Trashy blonde, #35 Movember, #39 Alpha Dog are solid recipes (and the ingredients come out at £11 a 20l batch). might throw a curve ball and try to make a batch of the Nanny state. Quite a complex malt and hop schedule but it might be worth a go to have a 0.5% bre...

https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1719/25571043633_e8863df8d6.jpg first time of using pellet hops and was curious if they would work with the GF. Very happy with the outcome as no blockages and much easier to clean up afterwards than the leaf debris i normally get. Filter held up well with the 60g if ...

Grainfather brew #2 Standard Bitter
Thanks to an impromptu afternoon off work cracked onto making a standard bitter on my Grainfather. Thought I would post the session as its been about 3 years since I posted a brewday. During the week I had popped into my local homebrew shop (Brewers Barn in Ipswich) on my lunchbreak for a nose about...

Re: Adnams Spindrift recipe ideas?
Kegman's post about Adnams recipe's is a good start http://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=52921 For the Spindrift its just pale malt and wheat with boadicea and first gold hops. I made a batch a few years back but changed computers since and cant find my notes. I do remember buying ...

Re: Grainfather - lessons learnt
Cheers for the tips Clickhappy, My Grainfather got delivered on Tuesday and I am about to start my first batch this weekend. I shall get on with making an insulated jacket and have a spray bottle on hand! I bought the hefe last year along with some cheap cornies. Came out very nice (despite the bag ...

Re: Corny keg pimping
So far its been really easy to use, bought this one from the Home Brew Builder. My only tip would be not to connect it with the tap set to open.... made for a quickly wet floor. This is an upgrade from using mini kegs and a party star tap. Have found the corny tap opening far wider than the party st...

Re: Corny keg pimping
It's bad photos but certainly purple. Have done a few coats will see how it handles with use. Always plenty in the can for touch ups. Still work in progress with priming as these are my first cornys. So far the garage has been cold enough. I used 20g of priming sugar and had to let a bit of pressure...
