Re: brewing gloves
The Brewferm and Blichmann gloves look like the gloves I bought through a restaurant / janitorial supply store and I see them all the time in breweries. They are a nice weight and very comfortable.

Re: Now I have capacity, casking ales?
I have a stainless pin I’ve had for quite awhile but never used. Now that Winter is i-cumin in https://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/org/can ... arody.html
it will be the perfect temp in my basement and it’s time I finally use it.

Re: Canterbury Tales Camp Site Brewing
I think I’ve heard boiling liquid or steam will melt the glue holding the rubber bottom on.
I doubt the seal on the lid will hold against a vacuum, but does it need to? Air will get in but liquid will probably not leak. I would keep it upright.

Re: Yeast Cropping Advice
Yeah, I get that a lot. It would have blown out anyway - I’ve tried open and closed and it makes no difference. I just change the airlock if this happen and usually use a bigger fermenter with a vigorous yeast.

Re: using a corney as a cask
As F00b4r said, I use new kegs. My favorite brand is AEB from Italy but I have Chinese ones that work just as well. I don’t see why just replacing the seals in an older keg wouldn’t work just as well, except I don’t trust the relief valves on my old kegs. That’s where I always lost pressure before b...

They made the thread different so the sparkler attachment will not fit an Intertap.

Re: Grainfather grain mill
Professional chefs and bakers like Ken Forkish swear by freshly ground flour for bread, but a good flour mill is much more expensive than a malt mill so unless you bake a lot it’s not worth it. My sister uses a Mockmill https://mockmill.us/ However, Marc Vetri’s book explains why freshly ground flou...

Re: Cask 'style' from kegerator with flow control taps
I deleted the picture - too true to life. Shiver. The nukatap/ Intertap stout faucet pours just fine with normal pressure and low natural condition. Whether the sparkler plate actually adds anything to the character though is debatable with just C02. Likewise, Lukr side pull faucets are the latest g...

I use it with CO2 so it’s only marginally better than a regular tap but with Nitrogen mix it might be nice. A beer engine mi...

Re: Cask 'style' from kegerator with flow control taps
If you get a beer engine you might want to look for a model that will allow the cylinder to be opened so it can dry out. I have an Angram which is always wet inside so I need to run sanitizer through it to keep it fresh when not in use.

Re: Cask 'style' from kegerator with flow control taps
I’ve been using an aspirator / breather https://rlbs.ltd.uk/rlbs-cask-aspirator-breather-valve.html with a corny with my beer engine for years, starting with a low pressure LP regulator which works exactly the same way but much easier and cheaper to get in the US. Sankey kegs were not available to h...
