Re: london pride which version would you do ( confused )

Re: Beersmith 2

I have used it for around a month now and decided to buy because It just did everything I wanted. It is highly customisable (is that a real word or some Americanism?). For example I was irritated that when dealing in weights at Kg level any figures such as 323g would be displayed as .32g. It was po...

Re: starter size

A 1L starter should be sufficient for 25L. If you're worried about it, you could always make the last step slightly larger. Cheers Thats good to here Do you think that doing it the original way from slant to 300ml then to 1000ml i would have been under pitching, because there were definitely some b...

starter size

Just recently i have been getting some flavors in my beer ever since i have been using my own slants, the yeast seems ok, so i could not work out why this is happening, so i got myself a copy of the yeast book and now realize i have been seriously under pitching. i normally do a 25 l tr batch, how i...

Re: should i fine it

Fining will pull your beer bright in 24-48 hours if the problem is suspended yeast. It won't sort anything else out. However, working with finings is not the easiest thing to do. It's difficult to get isinglass into a proper solution, and ready made isinglass tends to be ineffective due to improper...

Re: should i fine it

thanks for your reply, but the problem is i think i put it in the corny to soon it was only on day 7 so i think it has a thick layer of yeast on the bottom because i just undone the lid and scooped a glass off the top and its crystal clear so i am just going to siphon into another corny

Re: HELP NEEDED pilsner

would always prefer to pitch cold if possible.

I would also lager it in bulk before bottling - a lot of crud is going to settle out during lagering, and ideally you don't want that in your bottles.
what about kegging could i lager in a corni ?
