Volume?

Post by yashicamat » Sun Oct 26, 2008 4:03 pm

I'm getting a 25kg sack of pale 2-row tomorrow and I am trying to sort out the containers suitable for storing it. Question is - how much volume per kilo does crushed grain use? I am guessing about 1.5 litres per kilo?

Thanks. :)

Cheers for that. :)

I have managed to find two 29 litre fermenting bins (which I don't use anymore) so hopefully they'll do the job!

I find that 1L of Crushed malt weighs just about 500g . . . which is not to bad when you have a 12Kg batch to weigh out

Seems like the advice was pretty accurate! Two 25 litre plastic bin fermenters (closer to 30 litres to the top) are both filled to the brim now! Pouring grain about gets very dusty though.
