Howdy all,
I've been reading up here and there and the general consensus is that this is the best means of a firm head retention. I have two questions:
1. How much per 5 gallons?
2. Does it give any flavour?
3. Does it create haze in the finished pint?
Cheers in advance!

Re: Torrefied Wheat
I would use up to 5% of your total mash bill
I don't notice any significant haze from its use.
Taste? If you are worried on this point I would suggest using carafoam but I really don't think you will be bothered with any adverse off tastes, I certainly am not.
Cheers

Re: Torrefied Wheat
For a 5 gallon brew I add 100g of Torrefied wheat. There is no significant taste difference with or without. And my beers come out crystal clear. Every brew I do gets 100g these days.

Cheers. Can't wait to give this a try now!
Re: Torrefied Wheat
100g is probably about right. I've used 224g and I detect a dry, cracker like taste. The taste eventually faded.

Well, added 120g to my latest brew. Should be on safe grounds.

Re: Torrefied Wheat
I've decided its much more useful to have a Bag of Wheat Malt in stock than Torrefied Wheat.
The What Malt will do the exact same for head retention and add some biscuity flavours and you can also use it as a straight malt for a more Wheaty beer, hopefully that makes it more use than the Torry Wheat.
Thats my thinking! I used my last little bit of Torrefied up yesterday and bought 5kgs of What Malt.
