Can you Home Roast Crushed Wheat malt to make Chocolate Wheat Malt?
I was thinking of buying a kilo but when I've got 5kg of regular Crushed Wheat malt in the cellar is it easier to just roast it in the oven??

What temp and how long? and does it being crushed effect it?

I imagine chocolate malt would be very hard to make in a home oven. Amber malts are easy though.

You can't used crushed malt as it won't roast evenly.

I'll stick to ordering a kilo then, cheers :)

*Come to think of it, I've got instructions for Amber malt in the Durden Park book.
