dragonhead stout looks to light

My dragon head stout has the colour of a dark bitter I used the following recipe,

GOLDEN PROMISE PALE MALT 3570 gms
CRYSTAL MALT 70 gms
ROAST BARLEY 80 gms
FLAKED BARLEY 100 gms
BLACK MALT 30 gms

Any ideas were I went wrong with the colour and its day three fermanting started 1040 now at 1010.

You have nothing in it to colour it properly. You probably wanted something like 700g crystal, and 130g black malt to get even close to the right colour, though I would probably go with 500g crystal and 165g black malt. Looks like you got the recipe at hopandgrain.com? You might want to ask them.

Your right that is where I got the recipe from its first stout that i have tried to brew still tastes OK more like a dark bitter at 4%.will have to have a go at guiness clone next year and get a better recipe.when i weighed out the grain for dragon head stout i thought it was light on dark malt but thought being newbie that the recipe was more likely right.
Thanks anyway its put my mind at rest that it was not me that made the mistake.

To be honest it's not a million miles away from Graham wheelers Timothy Taylor Best Bitter so should be very drinkable.
