Just a quick note on mash efficiency. Using Tuckers pale malt (MO), bought direct from them at their sales counter, i have consistently got 65% mash efficiency. When using muntons pale malt using the same equipment and methods i get 85%.
I spoke to Peter at the Hop Shop and asked if there had been any feedback re efficiency with the Tuckers they sell. The answer is that Tuckers purposely undercrush to avoid stuck mashes for their commercial clients.
