EDME DMS

I have aquired some EDME Diastatic Malt Extract which I used to use many moons ago for partial mashes and extract brews. As I understood it then, it was always necessary to boil the malt extract. I don't really want to do any partial mashes or indeed anything other than to add it to the odd kit in place of DME, but the question is: will this give good results or should it be boiled? Can anyone advise?
