flaked triticale

Post by Rookie » Sun Nov 06, 2011 5:56 pm

I will be brewing a dry stout later this year. Just to see what difference it'll make I am going to use flaked triticale instead of flaked barley. Anyone else ever use triticale?

I was eying this at the grocery store only yesterday and thinking about using it for a breakfast porridge substitute, I did not however pull the trigger. :-k but now that you mention its use in brewing..................

I guess if it's good enough for Charlie Papazian................
I buy from The Malt Miller

I've got his books, but it's been a long time since I read them. I didn't remember seeing it mentioned; I'll have to reread them.

I looked over his three books and only found triticale mentioned in passing. Does he mention it more in depth elsewhere?
