Hi
I was wondering if anybody knows of a way to get an equivalent taste to us 2 row, but using Maris otter mixed with another malt?
Was thinking of trying some of the brewing network clone brews but can't get us 2 row here.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Uk equivalent of us 2 row
Just use your English 2-row pale malt of choice interchangeably, it's a bit better overall, but mostly indistinguishable. Really, it's SO not a big deal, don't give it any more thought.
Re: Uk equivalent of us 2 row
Use the Crisp pale malt from The Maltmiller, has had very good reviews from both sides of the pond and will be better than MO for a substitute.
Re: Uk equivalent of us 2 row
About to put in an order for malt miller so will try the pale malt, thanks all
Re: Uk equivalent of us 2 row
I made the same mistake. US 2 row has higher protein so if you sub with UK pale malt you need to add wheat malt to make up the protein. Or you could use pilsner or lager malt which has comparable protein levels.
