one last question then for this thread,

as a ball park figure, if a kits og is 1.040 and the fg with sugar is aiming for 1.005 what sort of fg should I be aiming at with DME?

I realise there are a lot of variables but I am just after the sort of range I should be expecting.

sorry for my ignorance, but by that do you mean the gravity will drop 75% of that expected by sugar? so many new terms to understand and so easy to make an incorrect assumption.

in the example I gave then 35 ponts /0.75 or just over 26 points so an expected 1.014?

would that be the same with glucose but using 80%?
