I just bought a bag of crystal malt 110ebc, I presume that is the colour. Now when doing a recipe in beertools pro there are loads of crystal would I be right in picking the one that says crystal 100 and editing it to 110.Another question what is british crystal 55 L.

Beertools is American so they're using the Lovibond scale. Roughly speaking you half the EBC to get the Lovibond. So British ~120 EBC is roughly crystal 60L. I assume 55L is British caramalt ? Either that or light crystal

When I order "British Crystal" it comes in 4 shades: "Carastan" (30L), "Medium" (55L), "Dark" (110L), and "Extra Dark" (130-140L). I think that's pretty standard for what we can get in the US as far as British Crystal goes, so that's probably what beertools is referring to.

I must have been pissed when I wrote that last post - obviously crystal 55l is virtually crystal 60, in other words medium crystal as Monk points out. Around the 120 EBC level.
