Types of pale malt
Types of pale malt
Want to buy a sack of pale malt. Usually I use marris otter but does anyone know what is the difference between pearl, golden promise and optic. I think pearl is 2-row so assume this is used in american pale ales, but never used it so not sure how this varies in taste from MO?? Are they traditionally used to make different types of ale?

Re: Types of pale malt
I've used pearl, I'd say it tastes "maltier" but it's hard to work with, very turbid out of the tun!
Overall I thought it was O.K.
