Carapils added to APA kit?

Post by Monkeybrew » Sun Dec 11, 2011 12:12 am

I will be brewing a heavily hopped Coopers Australian Pale Ale in the new year.

It will be brewed with 500g of light DME to 20L.

Question is, will steeping some leftover carapils that I have give the brew some more body without affecting the colour too much?
FV:

Conditioning:
AG#41 - Vienna Lager - 5.6%
AG#42 - Heritage Double Ale - 10.5%

On Tap:

I have never used carapils (don't you love it when a reply starts like that  ) but as it does not need mashing I don't see why it should not work. There is a useful list of grain characteristics here CLICKY

I have ordered some carapils to use in a brew after xmas and it seems a useful ingredient to have around.
