I was given a bag of malt because the owner of my LHBS was not sure what it was, its marked Amber but he felt it was too light/dark...

Any one got a clue if it is or not?

Definitely a certain green-ness about it. UJ, is that picture an accurate reflection of the real colour?

Have a chew on some and see what you think.

Looks like no malt I've seen, more like unripe barley, but hardly that.

Hoping this is a better picture....

The light in this house is rubbish. The malt is a little darker than caramalt.

If it smells biscuity with maybe a hint of coffee, maybe amber malt?

Can't be sure but it looks rather like rye.
