Hi all
I use Brewmate at the moment, and am trying to build a recipe using grains available from my LHBS. They sell Crystal Malt, which I wanted to use at about 7.5% to boost maltiness in a session beer I'm planning.
Anyway, the fermentables list in Brewmate has about a squillion different kinds of Crystal Malt (10, 20, 50 etc) and they don't seem to correspond to any of the malts available to buy online (e.g Crystal, Pale Crystal, Dark Crystal)... so I don't know which one to choose in Brewmate.
Can anyone give me a steer?
Crystal 10/20/90/120 etc etc?

+1 to this, using beersmith and pondering what I should enter for standard british crystal

If it just says "Crystal" then assume it's 120 EBC and you'll not be far out.
But you should probably consider switching to a supplier who can tell you the real numbers.

On the malts you buy (depending on your supplier) should be labelled. On the label should be the EBC or SRM figure. Just go into your edit function and change the figure. Every order I get, I check the figures and change where necessary.
I buy from The Malt Miller

So the numbers in Brewmate correspond to the EBC ratings of the grains, then. Okay, cool. And thanks for that bit of advice, boingy.
