Alternative to Victory/Buscuit malt?

Post by Cazamodo » Fri Aug 31, 2012 5:14 pm

Im brewing up a brown ale from a recipe which calls for .5lbs of Victory Malt. Now I'm pretty sure this is just Biscuit malt, but neither of which I have to hand. I s there a good substitute to this at all? Or will I just have to order some in and postpone brewday?

You could try using amber malt if you have that. It's not quite the same, a bit more roasty/nutty than biscuit malt, but 250g amber is nice in a brown ale IMO.

I thought I had some amber malt, just went to check and I'm all out lol. I may just put an order in for some Biscuit and Amber now anyway. Bummer I wanted to brew this weekend haha
