Hello anyone know the best /cheapest place for grains etc postage is a killer I know it's heavy ...I'm in Dorset and have one homebrew shop in my area and they are quite expensive and seem to be more kit orientated ..if anyone knows anywhere I would really like your input cheers.

There are very few shops around that stock grains at cheap prices, Mail order seems to be the way most people buy their grains.

A few of the recommended sellers are, in my personal order of preference

I buy in bulk to make it worth it, usually having approx 60kg delivered in one go.

By the time youve paid for the petrol, parking and time to drive to the shop and paid there mark up £30 delivered aint that expensive after all, plus you can chuck in a few packs of hops and a kilo or 2 of other grains and still be under the 30kg max

You could try one of the local microbreweries and see if they could sell you some grain. I would start with Art Brew at North Chideock as I have found them to be helpful with advice and recipe pointers in the past.

Definitely ask your local micros. Some don't want the hassle, some are happy to help as long as you can fit around their schedule.

If any of them are especially grumpy about it then don't buy their beers!

I get my grain from the local micro and it's unbelievably cheap!! Less than half the price that my LHBS charges! I've got quite friendly with the owners & now they also chuck in the odd 200g of hops free of charge. :)
