How does it compare in appearance to US grown and malted barley? Does it look or feel any different? How does it compare in terms of cost?

I'll be interested to know what, if any, differences you find when brewing.

Given how much a bag of that costs here nowadays I'm almost afraid to think what it costs over the other side of the pond!

I had problems brewing with No. 19 MO. Every time I used it it left me with a very high FG. Will be interested to hear how you get on.

It doesn't look or feel any different to me. It was more than American pale ale malt: $66 for a 55 lb bag versus $44 for a 50 pound bag.
I don't plan to brew with it until the new year, but will make note of my impressions afterwards.

It was $66. I have no idea what the exchange rate is.
The local homebrew club piggybacked with a local brewpub's order.
The best price that I was able to locate for a bag of maris otter (a different maltster)'was $76, but would have cost a lot for shipping.

I will report my results when I use it.
I'm planning a string of session beers so high F G leaving some body wouldn't be a big issue

$56 here at the current rate of exchange, so not a bad price all things considered. Hope it works out well.

This is the starting price for malt here. Most malts are around 33€

Just paid £25 collected. That'll do me.

Malted wheat is expensive though.

I decided to not wait until next year and am brewing a best bitter: 5.5 pounds milled for brewing tomorrow.

I got a way higher O G than expected: 1.051 in 3.25 gallons. Using briess or great western pale ale malt I'd get 1.040-42.

I also got a higher final gravity:1.019.
Next time I use it I plan to mash longer and at a lower temperature. I'll also be using a yeast that normally ferments lower.
