late hop additions issue

just sampled two of my latest brews and i feel they taste underhopped in relation to late hop additions.I used the normal amount i normally used but added them not at the last 15 mins of the boil but after the boil had finished but cooled down to 80c.My question is can i take a gallon of the beer boil it for 15mins with some hops let it cool and add back to the rest of the beer or am i left soley with a dry hopping approach?

How much did you use in the way of hops slurp? At least you know to ratchet up the late hops next time.

I used 27grams cascade at 6.8% i know this may have lost some of its A/A but the recipe [townes ipa from ollosson's book] states same grams but with 5.2 A/A so i didnot think i would be under hopping.The other brew was Deuchars clone i put all late addition hops in at 80c its not as bad as the ipa but still lacking hop edge

AA% doesn't really affect the aroma/flavour, that's more to do with bittering. Try doubling your aroma hops next time.

managed to get some hop extract [ritchie products] sufficient for 90 litres.I suppose i am only trying to replace the lost bitterness of the last 15min hops so can anyone tell me roughly how much should i add,the IPA recipe said 27grms of 5.2 a/a ?

well i added 10mg to the IPA and definetly tastes better i thought about adding same amout to my deuchars clone but backed off as i thought it tasted ok as it is.
