Whole / Pellets

Post by Garth » Fri Mar 02, 2007 3:52 pm

I'm doing a SNPA clone brew this afternoon/evening and the recipe I have gives the amounts of hops for pellets and not whole which I have.

Yhe Magnum is fine as I have pellets of these, but the Perle and Cascade are whole

How much should I up the amounts as at moment 3g of Cascade seems pitiful

The utilizations are higher for pellets by about 10% but for late hops it's hardly worth bothering to adjust the figures.

How are you filtering out the pellets at the end?

cheers for the reply Steve,

h&g slotted manifold in the bottom of the boiler

I'm going to use my newly constructed-pinched-idea-from-Scooby hopback for the aroma hops (cascade)

Cheers Scooby btw
